Change Change Chaaaaaange
Some of you may have noticed me changing around the layout to my blog, first I went with a very fun and cute theme that was colorful and I loved. The only problem: I couldn’t have a custom masthead! (And we all know I love those) So friday night instead of going out to a bar and drinking my week away, I played around, changed my layout to a more customizable one and created a new masthead in honor of October. Loser? Yes I am.
October is a big month for a lot of things. Number one and the biggest reason being that it is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Men and women alike need to be concerned with this and take the time to go get themselves tested and urge the ones they love to go get tested as well. Donating to charities, like Susan G. Komen For the Cure, so that a cure can be found for this awful disease can also make a huge difference. Please take the time this October to focus on this important issue and help women get treatment they need and deserve. No one should have to go through this horrible disease so it is soooo important to make sure you catch it early.
October also kicked off the start to baseball’s post season, a fun time for sportsfans like myself who happen to love the RED SOX! Baseball fever is in the air and I am sure my blog will start going a little baseball crazy over the next few weeks as things heat up. That is of course if the Red Sox continue to win….
This year October is particularly important–no extremely important–in another regard. This year is the presidential elections, if you hadn’t figured that out from this blog, or the NEWS, before. It is SO important that you register (most places registration ends the 10th, which is THIS FRIDAY) and vote. I’ve never cared about it much before but it is our right, our privilege, our hard fought for freedom to vote for who runs this country. People in other countries would DIE for this right, and they have. This race is one that will go down in the history books: not only are more young people getting involved than ever before, but we have an African American man on the democratic ticket. So please, I don’t want to hear oh my vote won’t make a difference. I’m too lazy. I don’t do that whole voting thing. I will personally come BEAT YOUR ASS if you do not vote. Don’t think I don’t have crazy super powers like that to know who doesn’t vote BECAUSE I DO.
This weekend fall has officially graced us with its presence (unfortunately) but while I am not particularly ready for the cold weather and fight it, it also is my favorite month. I love the changing colors of the trees, the gorgeous hues that inhabit my wardrobe this time of year. I love coats and scarves, leather gloves and knee high boots. Hot apple cider, pumpkin pies, and apple picking. Basically, I LOVE FALL. I just don’t love what comes after it…
Happy October everyone!

Ou, I love the new layout! The masthead is especially snazzy.
I love the leaves in the background! Very cool.
very cute, I like it!
very cute…though not sure about the whole Red Socks thing.
Go Dodgers (i’d love a dodgers/red socks ws if only so Joe Torre can finally have his victory
hehehehe)
Like the new header. And yes, customizable headers are a must.
I actually miss the old layout!:(
Is this change gon’ be permanent?
am a new reader by the way… xoxo
Okay, so I’m sure you’ve done this before…but you’ve been tagged on my blog. It’s only fair, it’s only right…you introduced me to 20something and I like your blog!
Actually had people look at me like I had three eyes and quickly leave the conversation when I suggested it was more important for someone to actually get off their lazy asses and vote than for them to vote for my candidate. Guess some people would rather have their candidate win because the other guy’s stayed home than actually have everyone be patriotic and vote. I’m always depressed when I see the voter turn outs so low.
Nice new layout, can’t believe the Angels pulled it off last night! :-\
LOVE it!
